Cleaning Tips

The absolute best way to care for your carpet is to vacuum. Vacuum often, with a good, powerful machine.  Most carpet wear is a result of dirt, penetrating carpet fibers.

Soak up spills immediately.

If you have a spot, try cleaning with a mild vinegar and water solution, gently rub toward the center of the stain.  Do not over saturate with liquid or Over Rub.

Do not use soaps, or detergents when spot cleaning.  They are difficult to rinse free and may even set the stain.

Rotate your furniture to avoid wear patterns in your carpet.

Take care of  Pet problems early!  Avoid letting your pet create “favorite” spots.

Never use bleach or lightening products on your carpet!

Avoid using powdery carpet fresheners…they are difficult to remove and may cause your carpet to feel “stiff or sticky”  when you do have your carpet cleaned.

Have your carpets professionally cleaned every 6 to 12 months.  Carpet manufacturers recommend Hot Water Extraction/Steam Cleaning as the preferred method of cleaning, to preserve the life and beauty of your carpet.

For  best professional cleaning results, please tell  your technicians if you have used soaps or detergents on the carpet, and if you have used carpet fresheners.
